These passive in-ceiling speakers are suitable for use as surround channels in a home cinema system driven by an AV amplifier/receiver. While any passive in-ceiling speaker can be used as a surround sound channel, we recommend using a model which has a pivoting tweeter, fully pivoting drive unit, or fixed angle tilt to help direct the sound towards the listening area.
