Fire hoods are a requirement for all in-ceiling speakers that are installed below habitable rooms or within a location of access or escape, such as a landing or hallway. Cutting large holes in ceilings for ceiling speakers destroys the fire barrier, and under UK Building Regulations the installer is responsible for maintaining that barrier when fitting any equipment.

Universal fit for 5-9" round ceiling speakers with a cut-out diameter of up to 300mm (hood dimensions - 360mm x 185mm(H))

The Firetopper Pro II Acoustic Speaker Firehood has been designed specifically for in-ceiling speakers and conform with the latest IEE and Building Regulations for Fire and Acoustic integrity of ceilings. 

  • New Wider Opening for rapid snag free installation of speakers up to 9" with no trimming needed.
  • New Stiffer Construction holds its shape better during installation for maximum internal space.
  • New Intumescent Pass Through Gland for quick cable insertion.
  • New Fast Fix Pins included to secure the hood in place during installation.
  • New Colourfast Dyeing Process ensures zero colour transfer during installation.
  • Wrap around design ensures improved acoustic, fire and thermal performance.
  • Triple layer construction. Two intumescent layers encase fire retardant acoustic foam.
  • Fire Red indicates to other trades, this is a fire safety product.
  • Suitable for installation in suspended or plaster board ceilings.
  • Restores the ceiling's fire integrity.
  • Fully compliant with IEE and Building Regulations for Fire and Acoustic integrity of ceilings - BS476 Parts 21, 23 for acoustic and fire dispersion.
  • Reduces sound leakage into room above (typical reduction approx. 3dB).
  • Protects the Speaker against damage from Building Debris, Dust and Water Leaks.
  • Simple and rapid installation from below or above the ceiling.

    Fast delivery - very happy with the effiency of, and communication received fom this company.

    Regarding the product - I have used these before, hence why I had no doubts about using them again - the mark II version meant my speakers fitted easily without having to resort to manually enlarging the holes as was necessary with the original version.
